Popular Post Dark Slipstream Posted June 27, 2009 Popular Post Report Posted June 27, 2009 (edited) Modder: Mattyovers (iBotModz: matty0)Website: http://www.game-tuts.com/News Article: http://www.xboxic.com/news/5452 Description: Mattyovers decided to "hack" the achievements for the game Halo 3:ODST, which was to be released sometime in September 2009. Making them publicly viewable worldwide, he was questioned by a news reporter in his local city, as well as on Xboxic (link above), by a man by the name of Jason Andrews. In short note, Mattyovers was in beleif that because no where in the Microsoft/Xbox ToS (Terms of Service) did it mention unlocking unachievable achievements was not allowed, and that Microsoft could not legally do anything about it. He also so boldy clarified that if I am banned, I will leak more achievements. Good job Mattyovers, you have been banned, and your site was forced to be taken down. I hope you beleive you accomplished something, because you definitely pulled a stupid move. Edited June 27, 2009 by Dark Slipstream 12
Korupt Data Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 I hope legal action is taken against him. 1
Dark Slipstream Posted June 27, 2009 Author Report Posted June 27, 2009 I do too, he ruined the game for alot of us, and completely got a good site shut down (whether or not it was his in the first place). I mod the 360 and it's games, but I would never mod a game that isn't released, that's just 100% retarded. 1

Modding is supose to be fun, your bringing more fun to games and leaking achievements may be fun for some and cool for others, but it mainly hurt Bungie's new game (in a way) and to other modders that believe what I just said, it makes him out to be100% retarded 1
lostmodz26 Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 ****, I never saw the achivements, don't show me them. I want it to be a suprise. Also, I just made a video for him on the glitch. 1
Dark Slipstream Posted June 27, 2009 Author Report Posted June 27, 2009 Don't give him the video, show him who is in control and who isn't. I don't leak anymore, but I would have never gone this far before to leak something, this is just down right wrong. 1
diet Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Well avoid searching YouTube for Halo 3 ODST Achievements and you should be safe 1
lostmodz26 Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Yeah, and I was shocked that he was questioned by a reporter. This must be pretty damn serious. Hope he learns his lesson. 1
Korupt Data Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 If anyone gets a clip of that news report, id love to see it. 1
Random1225 Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 I don't understand why this is such a big deal. We will be able to do the exact same thing in like 3 months. Also, why would a newspaper want an article about a guy who modded himself some achievements? that's just 100% retarded.
SmokiestGrunl Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 I'm with Random, I fail to see what is so 'STFU' about this situation. I think he is a legend lmao, sticken it to Bungie and Microsoft.
Dark Slipstream Posted June 27, 2009 Author Report Posted June 27, 2009 I partially agree, but he didn't accomplish anything. This is all readily available on BS, NRU, X360C and Xbox360-Content. Utilizing a partially private tool to get himself banned, :/... Idk, dumb move on his part, but it's rather funny to know he probably didn't care lol...
Korupt Data Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Random/smokie you guys fail to see the point.. this is about leaking also whats there to "stick" to microsoft and bungie.. they havent done anything wrong.
DJ Shepherd Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Dark slip, you are totally being hypocritical right now the only reason you dont support him is that the game isnt released? yet you made programs to try and improperly unlock achievements and personally leak supermodders sawces which were to unlock achievements, and yet you are telling us that he ruined xbox live? He didnt ruin xbox live, modders who mod stuff online do, which, if im not mistaken, is perty much every xbox 360 modder 1
iBotPeaches Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Okay, I'm partially confused. He hacked achievements which tons of people do. People hacked Halo 3 achievements before they were released, they hacked Halo 3 mappack achievements before they were released, so whats the differences? I believe game-tuts made Modio, and Modio was stolen research that I heard, so I guess I support that being taken down.
SmokiestGrunl Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Random/smokie you guys fail to see the point.. this is about leaking also whats there to "stick" to microsoft and bungie.. they havent done anything wrong. TBH don't give shit about leaking. Things get leaked very single day, Movies (Wolverine), Games (ton of Halo 3 stuff before it was out), Music, etc, etc. Bungie failed me as a game company when they created Failho 3. So anything that is going to like mess up their plans is good. Microsoft for breaking Breakbox 360, helping them realise how shit they are. 2
ukjay Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Im probably taking the blame for the site being closed down, I'm getting a few messages on my Gamertag about it, which are just being deleted. I didn't in know way expect my story to have such a huge impact on that site.
SotG Caboose Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 I don't see why you people are making a big deal about this.. This was possible before gametutfags did it. He probably used supermodders tool anyway.
Korupt Data Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Really smokie? your logic is way flawed... anyway Closed. 1
