Its so small I can't even make it out.

 

Without seeing the picture I suggest you do that following:

 

Uninstall - Codec and FFDshow

Reinstall - Codec and FFDshow

Try - using a different movie/music to see if it is the file that is corrupt and use a different player

now, i assume your trying to play an MPEG-4 video if your having trouble with FFDshow. now, i agree with smokie, i had problems and all i needed to do was to d/l FFDshow and media player classic (pretty sure it comes with the codec). if you play your fiels in MPC you shouldnt have any trouble.

are you sure your using MPC... ive been using it for a while and ive never encountered this. is it the computer or explorer.exe thats crashing, there the only similar problems i can find on google.

this is easy mate, uninstall ffdshow compleatly then download the latest k-lite codec pack (link HERE) then restart ur pc and itl work. im 99.99% sure thatl fix it. the kl codec pack can work almost any media, its amazing what it can do rly
