xX Epsilon Xx Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 I don't feel like spending $40 then waiting a month to get action replay, or a modchip. So, I wa wondering is it possible to just softmod from NOTHING at all, just an xbox and a PC.(I can FTP, I can burn all CD types, I have transfer ethernet cable, and more) 1
iBotPeaches Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 You need to boot the exploit allowing you to do everything. The exploit is from another modded xbox or one of 3 of those exploitable games and action replay. I don't think its possible.
mtwomg Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 Oh don't bother, just run the XBE on your free devkit from microsoft! 1
TheEazyB Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 You could hotswap the Xbox HD into your PC, drop the modded files in.Shouldn't be a problem for someone as pro as you.
iBotPeaches Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 O yeah. Never thought about that. Burn xboxHDM 1.9 to a disc. The problem comes down to how to unlock the drive though to edit the files without having the eeprom or key itself. So probably won't work.
TheEazyB Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 The box unlocks the drive, if you hotswap when the microsoft logo shows on startup it's unlocked. Then you can just do you stuff, and reconnect it to the box and power off to relock it.
xX Epsilon Xx Posted June 8, 2009 Author Report Posted June 8, 2009 So can I simply hotswap the drives and put the softmod files on, and it'll work? What abou tthis locking crap? 1
iBotPeaches Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 O yeah, I completely forgot about that. Connect both cables to xbox HD (from xbox) turn on, then unplug ONLY IDE. Make sure you disable "auto-freeze" or whatever in your BIOS so you don't get a frozen drive. Then it will be unlocked and you can use XboxHDM to move the modded files over.
xX Epsilon Xx Posted June 8, 2009 Author Report Posted June 8, 2009 Ok, Thank You, I will do that when I get my PC back, lulz I am grounded, I can only use a crap-top.
LadyDemise Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Yeah u can hotswap... Using xboxhdm and ndure Ive noticed its way easier if u boot up ur computer first and then use the pause/break button before it detects the drives...

Quinn Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 The box unlocks the drive, if you hotswap when the microsoft logo shows on startup it's unlocked. Then you can just do you stuff, and reconnect it to the box and power off to relock it.I have never been able to hotswap successfully with an original Xbox,so can't recommend it. So can I simply hotswap the drives and put the softmod files on, and it'll work? What abou tthis locking crap? You need the eeprom, and without it, your ****** sideways, to put it simply. When the xbox boots up, it unlocks the HDD. If it is unlocked at the time of boot, it no workie I know its old, but a little extra knowledge never hurt anyone
