iBotPeaches Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 I've been having this problem for a long time, so there is not one specific event I can match to it. Anytime I open an app (coded from here or there) not like Microsoft Word. It takes the size of the previous opened app. So If I opened a small H3 stat program, its like 200x200 pixels. Then I open a large program, and it loads in 200x200 when its suppose to be like 800x400.I didn't make the apps, so its not a coding fault. I could have some strange setting on my computer that caches app size and doesn't reset it. Windows XP SP3
lostmodz26 Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Sounds like a virus, or some corrupt files probrably.Have you tried formatting?
iBotPeaches Posted May 29, 2009 Author Report Posted May 29, 2009 I'm not reformatting my computer over such a petty issue.
lostmodz26 Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 I'm not reformatting my computer over such a petty issue. Have you done a virus scan?
iBotPeaches Posted May 29, 2009 Author Report Posted May 29, 2009 To make you feel better, I'll run avast right now. I'm 98% it isn't that.
iKhaosmaster Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Try downloading TuneUp Utilities 2009 and do a registry scan and then look at some of the other settings. This used to happen to me and then I downloaded TuneUp Utilities and it fixed it.
lostmodz26 Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Alright, why don't you try running CCleaner, and TuneUp Utilities (as khaos said). It actually kind of sounds more like a registry error.
miinaturvat Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Try defragmenting your hard disk. I don't know if it will help, nor do I really know what it does, but it sounds important
iBotPeaches Posted May 29, 2009 Author Report Posted May 29, 2009 I hate installing all this crap on my computer, since CCleaner and TuneUp usually clause problems. Virus scan did nothing CCleaner did nothing Disk Defrag is at 1.02%
mangriff32 Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Alright, why don't you try running CCleaner, and TuneUp Utilities (as khaos said). It actually kind of sounds more like a registry error. CCleaner messed up my computer badly. Id suggest not using that.
iBotPeaches Posted May 29, 2009 Author Report Posted May 29, 2009 Disk Defrag did nothing either. Guess I'm running out of options.
iKhaosmaster Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Disk Defrag did nothing either. Guess I'm running out of options.I will look around for you. But I do suggest TuneUp Utilities.
lostmodz26 Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Yeah, TuneUp is a good way to boost computer performance. I would also suggest some PGWare Products that can fix errors in your computer, like PcMedKit.Just get the 30-day trial. Don't pirate their software though.
