Quinn Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 Does using the Win 98 theme actually give better performance? Oh and the name of the topic is the name of a System of a Down song (random)
iBotPeaches Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 Of course it gives better performance since less RAM is given to show sparkly effects and what not.

Dark Slipstream Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 It doesn't have to load the entire WinXP GUI, and you can even Optimize the PC for performance, rather than appearance. Right Click My Computer, Advanced (Tab), Click Settings (Button) in the Performance (Group). Now Optimize for best performance, and then enable these settings: Those will make Desktop/Icons/Folders look a bit better, without ruining the new performance.
Korupt Data Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 It didnt make that much of a difference on my pc.
Metalocalypse Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 My computers about ten years old now, so when it comes to performance, I have no clue
