lostmodz26 Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 (edited) Today I downloaded GameGain, a program that speeds up games. Well, I'm gonna be straight up about this, I google GameGain and I saw a link or something saying, "FREE! Use my GameGain license!", So i clicked on the link and it had a license. So I used that license in the program and when i entered it, it said "Thanks for purchasing gamegain!". After that..."YOU HAVE BEEN CAUGHT FOR USING AN ILLEGAL LICENSE!". Then a firefox window comes up saying that they MIGHT contact my ISP and do an investigation. The only thing that they said that they might send in the report is my I.P. Also, in my registry, a key was added with the information about the serial. I AM SCARED! I deleted the registry key, and tonight I am going to change my I.P by shutting off my modem. NO I DID NOT INTENTIONALLY MEAN TO REGISTER AND ILLEGAL SOFTWARE KEY AND I DO NOT USE WAREZ! I'm scared, any advice? Edited May 23, 2009 by lostmodz26

iBotPeaches Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 You know your busted when you get a letter in the mail. Otherwise you have no indication.
Decatur Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 You can't be sued for your IP adress, physically impossible. Theres millions of cases, how do you think sick bastards get there CP at the chan sites? It's cause maybe someone hopped on your wifi, or use a coffee house, etc. Im sure you cant, hope that assures you a lil.
lostmodz26 Posted May 23, 2009 Author Report Posted May 23, 2009 Actually a lot of people have gotten this message due to a virus or spyware..I'll tell them that.
