How NOT to Get a Dev Kit

YOU CANNOT GET A DEV KIT BY FOOLING MICROSOFT INTO THINKING YOU'RE AN ACTUAL DEVELOPER

 

You may have thought you had a GREAT idea of fooling Microsoft into thinking you're a legit developer so that you can get FREE dev kit. The underlined and bold parts of that represent what's wrong with it.

 

You may think "Oh, I'll just send an email to Microsoft saying I'm a legit developer and that they should send me a free dev kit." You're wrong.

 

When you apply to be a licensed Microsoft dev they require a few things, including but not limited to: Proof of your abilities, and NDA (Non-Disclosure-Agreement) signed by you (BUT you have to be over 18), and MONEY (Yep, money).

 

Just to get licensed you have to pay about $10,000, and even AFTER becoming licensed you STILL have to pay about $800 for a single kit.

 

If you attempt this I promise you none of you will get past the NDA.

For a new test kit from Microsoft legit is about $1000, new Dev about $2000 so get one from the Black Market is better.

First off. I was not wrong.. Someone just pulled some information out of their ass.

 

A new testkit from Microsoft is 1000$ USD with all the accessories, but I never stated a price for development consoles. If I were to guess, I'd say $1500..
