crazyeightz Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 the death sentence. do you think that if someone commits a horrendous crime should they be sentenced to death or should they live and spend life in prison? what do you guys think?
Joe Walls Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Life in prison. Make them suffer. No use in killing them...
Dark Slipstream Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 (edited) Define horrible crime. PS: Joe, you do realize they can watch TV, workout, get 3 sq. meals a day, get to go outside, play pool... That isn't making them suffer -.-... That leaves the possibility of escape, bail, etc... Joe Walls Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 If it's really bad they should get nothing but a room with a toilet and 2 meals a day.
crazyeightz Posted May 19, 2009 Author Report Posted May 19, 2009 (edited) murder, or multiple murders, multiple child molestations, multiple child abuser, child murderer. multiple rapes. what do you think the standard should be? i am pro capital punishment. life in prison is not punishment. half the people that end up in there live better than they would on the outside. and the millions of dollars that taxpayers pay for them to live is not worth it. that money could be going somewhere else for better reasons than keeping a murdering ciminal alive. think of what could happen, the changes that could be made. Metalocalypse Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 (edited) Life in prison. Honestly, your really just giving them the easy way out if you kill them. They would much rather die then spend the rest of their life rotting in prison. They usually only do executions when the prisons get crammed, and possibly by request...not sure though; I have never committed a felony before and have never been to prison. Quinn Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Its too merciful to kill them, Guantanamo Bay? People who commit terrible crimes like those mentioned above should have no rights once proven guilty. I mean come on, why give them all this luxury, coming from where many of them do, Prison is a heaven compared to their household, and thats not the point of prison. Holy Shizam look at me ramble.
iBotPeaches Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Are you talking about the guy from Missouri who is getting killed tonight at 12:01 pm/ It cost more money to keep someone in prison for 10 years, then a kid takes to grow from 1-18. If its strict, I'd give the death penalty.
Pargy Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 There are valid arguments for both sides For- It helps with over crowding, the US has the most prisoners in the world. Against- They actually have to live with the consequences of their actions... I did a debate about it in my class a few weeks ago.....didnt really pay attention though
T3A guy Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 The death penalty costs more than life in prison, but the death penalty deters about 6 murders per execution.
jmdalmighty Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 (edited) If they murder, they deserve to die. sorry to say this but wow ur retarded if u kill someone it give no one else a right to kill you like thay say an eye for an eye makes the wol world blind (u get what i mean) we in the uk dont have a death penalty and we have way less serial killers or killers than america Edited May 19, 2009 by jmdalmighty

An eye for an eye leaves two people blind and people would learn not to poke out eyes after seeing that. And the uk has 1/5 the people of the US so that is invalid.
Decatur Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 sorry to say this but wow ur retarded if u kill someone it give no one else a right to kill you like thay say an eye for an eye makes the wol world blind (u get what i mean) we in the uk dont have a death penalty and we have way less serial killers or killers than americaflawed logic is flawed. UK is 1/5 population of the U.S., so it doesnt surprise me that the UK has less murders, but im willing there INCREDIBLY close to being proportional.
Random1225 Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 I'm for the death penalty. I Just believe that some people deserve to die for what they've done and for those of you who are going to say "what gives you the right to take someones life", nothing gives me the right, but that's not gonna stop anyone.
T3A guy Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 I think pro death penalty won this debate./close?

crazyeightz Posted May 20, 2009 Author Report Posted May 20, 2009 ok. so a life for a life. death penalty could possibly solve economy problems. yes i think that if the populations were equal that the amount of killers would be close to equal. that fact that the U.K. has 1/5 of the population makes a world of difference. i am pretty sure peoples opinions here would change to pro death sentence if one of the victims of the murders was there family or a dear friend. by the way i am from canada and we dont have the death penalty either. putting them away in jail makes them live with what they did but i am pretty sure if they have committed more than one murder that they dont care. they dont have enough of a concience to care. and letting them live in a prison is an upgrade than their usual lifestyle
Curtis Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 life in prison= Very expensive, cost alot of tax payer dollars, but then sometimes they are found inocent 10 years later... Personally i dunno.
Slidell Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 If it's really bad they should get nothing but a room with a toilet and 2 meals a day. You mean solitary confinement, for the rest of there lives? Yeah that be hell I'd kill myself. I really don't care either way,if someone killed a family member of mine watching them die wouldn't help me feel better. Killing them or one of there family members would, but not seeing them get a needle in the arm.
