Playstation Format Disc?

Ok, I'm trying to play my Ps2 again and It'll play my old games, but it can't play the one I want to play. It keeps asking for a PS2 format disc. So what does this mean?

Most likely, something is corupt. Now you must obtain a "Format disc" most likely to clear that corupt file to play your game.

I don't think it's like that because it doesn't even load the game. It doesn't go to the menu, but straight to a screen saying I need a format disc.

is the gama that your trying to play have a purple back/bottem/ whatever the shiny side is? them ol ps2 had problems reading discs, especially them purple ones. stand your ps2 up when you play it. ya know like:" I " not like:" _ "

it's the normal color like silvery and I'll try that later.

It's a disc in the valid PS2 disc format, meaning if you're getting that error, your system can't read the disc properly, it's a foreign disc, or it's a pirated disc. Only original discs with your region code will boot on your system without that error. There's nothing to download, as the PS2 won't boot burned data discs so that you can't download pirated copies of games.

K thanks, I got it off gamefly so idk, I guess it's not my region which is kinda stupid they would send me something I can't use.
