greensaxaphone Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Hey I have a few questions that I am kind of embarassed to ask. So to use a dev/demo/test/debug kit to mod Halo 3 I need a modded xex, and a "Halo 3 Game Dump (Patched)". I have another question. I have heard that there also is something wrong with the public xex, is this true? Thanks for the help.
Korupt Data Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 If your thinking about buying a test/demo/dev kit just to mod halo 3 i wouldnt..its a waste of money m8 and i think the xex's that are public are fine.
T3A guy Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Is Halo 3 modding the only thing you plan to do with this?
greensaxaphone Posted February 4, 2009 Author Report Posted February 4, 2009 Where can I get the "Halo 3 Game Dump (Patched)"?

amcboi95 Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 Don't mean to bug people. But, what else are Dev Kits good for?

greensaxaphone Posted February 5, 2009 Author Report Posted February 5, 2009 I googled it is the game dump just an iso?
yungbol Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Just download the Halo 3 .iso and use an iso explorer and go to the /Maps and you'll see all the maps.
Quickkill0 Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 (edited) Just download the Halo 3 .iso and use an iso explorer and go to the /Maps and you'll see all the maps.Thats not possible regular iso apps cant read 360 iso's you need to either use xdvd mulliter or wx360 to extract the files from the iso then you patch the files using xex tool or any other known patching tool and transfer to your dev/demo/test/reviewer kit.Now seeing as how you dont have one i would not recomend buying one for the sole purpose of modding halo 3 becuase your taking up valuable resources for those who need them and your wasting your money becuase not only do you need the xex you need map editors that work unlike johnson and engineer. yungbol Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 With an .iso explorer what I meant was Mulleter where you can hit "Browse Files" or whatever. And you call him buying a dev kit to mod Halo 3 but I thought you went and did the same thing? Clearly if your showing off mods then you use your dev kit for Halo 3. If you were a true "game developer" you wouldn't be worrying about Halo 3, you would be concentrating on coding your own game.
Slidell Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Where can I get the "Halo 3 Game Dump (Patched)"? You can find that here.

True that. Some people on the other hand, who know what they're doing, use them for development, which, coincedentally, is what they're for. <sarcasm> Weird, huh? </sarcasm>
