Randomrocket Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 (edited) Hi. I'm new here and I would love to start modding Halo 3 maps. The problem is, I own a Xbox 360 pro edition and I need a serial number for an Xbox 360 elite edition, so I can get the free transfer cable from Microsoft. I really don't want to spend $55 on something I can get for free. Here is the transfer cable for those of you who don't know what it is. I heard you can use it instead of the XSATA cable to mod Halo 3 maps. Is there anyone here that can help me? EDIT: I called Microsoft and they said all I need is the s/n of either an elite, 60gb hard drive, or a 120gb hard drive. I have a 60 gb hard drive so I am good. I just want everyone to know that you don't need an Xbox 360 Elite. Just buy a bigger hard drive and put the serial number for it in place of the elite's s/n. This is true because I just got the transfer kit today. Edited February 21, 2009 by Randomrocket

Quickkill0 Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 You do not need two serial numbers just tell them that you bought a 120gb hdd and you want to transfer the files from it.Although im pretty sure they dont do transfer cables anymore and make u use the online liscencing app.

iBotPeaches Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 They don't give those cables anymore. They explain how you can re-register everything on the new hard-drive, and it will re-start the download for everything.
Decatur Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 (edited) When did they stop doing it? I got one in like november, let me check the date on the box. EDIT: nope, I got the serial in October, ordered it the 20th, got it 3 days later. Edited February 9, 2009 by Fatal Error
Korupt Data Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 There are "kits" you can buy for like 8 bucks and its basicaly just a cable that attaches your HDD to your pc... do some googling and im sure you will find them.
