nexuscore Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 (edited) i am thinking to make some kind of halo AIO tool it would copy the halo files from the hdd and give them different extensionsthis way.the files are stored is folders like "screenshots" and "usermaps" and when you right click such a file, you can easily choose to edit with a tool or resign/rehashfor example if you right click a film, you see an extra option in the context menu to edit the film with for example vanity. the purpose of this program is actually to associate halo 3 files with the editing programswhat do you think of this idea?should i go for it?or do you prefer opening the map in a tool instead of with a right click on the map(of course double click would work too)any ideas are welcome Edited January 25, 2009 by nexuscore
SmokiestGrunl Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Go for it. I'm not sure what your talking about but it sounds interesting. I think I know what your saying but not sure.
Korupt Data Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 (edited) That would be pretty difficult since all of those files are con files lol you would have to open them by there name not what type of file they were and i dunno how you would go about doing that. nexuscore Posted January 25, 2009 Author Report Posted January 25, 2009 (edited) they all start with usermapxxxxxx or filmxxxxxx so its kinda easy to sort them and give extensions it will also include automatically find all halo files on the hdd and copy them to their respective folders, same for putting it back on the hdd..easy i just hope i can get it to work with the fatx filesystem >.< Edited January 25, 2009 by nexuscore

LXV Grizzly Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 I think that would be great, then I wouldnt need all these apps I have, there are a few good AIO's out there, but none that fit everything I need. This sounds like it could be very interesting if done right, but it might be pretty tricky.

Trying to read the HDD is way too complex.
Dan Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Go for it. I'm not sure what your talking about but it sounds interesting. I think I know what your saying but not sure. Yeah. Lol.
iBotPeaches Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 You mean adding right click extensions, by pre-reading the first few characters of a file? Then opening a program defaulted by that (film=film editing tool, etc) Its possible, just seems like work for something that will get outdated fast.
