Um, ok? The user content files store no information to detect players WITHIN a given screenshot. The only note-able player information is stores is the user that created the screenshot, the user who last modified it, and the EXIF data embedded in the jpg. I may be wrong though, it has been a while since I looked into any of the tags.
-
It is called Exif data, it is used as one of the precautions that bungie took to screenshot exploits. And to give bungie some sense of exclusiveness once halo reach screenshots start flooding the internet. Read up Also, the _blf format is used for nearly every external tag system. All tags between the _blf header and _eof footer is included in that file's tag system. In which the BLF header stores the name of the file, sometimes in several different languages. Other than that, the format for all blf files are essentially the same. Read up

This C# library will allow you to load any halo reach user content file into a neat object to access its data. It will only read, and not write. From the looks of things, Bungie has made a lot of consideration into user exploitation. The Tag object stores an array of nested tags that can be accessed like so: Tag[0] To return the tag in the first index. Or the much nicer: Tag["chdr"] Which would return the tag named "chdr". A tag object contains 3 feilds. Name, a 4 character ASCII string which contains the tag name Size, an Int32 which stores the size of the entire tag(Including the name and size bytes) Data, a byte array containing the tag's information. The Data field can be accessed via byte array or BinaryReader. Tag files can be initialized either directly from a STFS file(using DJ SkunkieButt's X360 Library), or from an already extracted file, and even directly from a stream. Here is an example of me loading a Tag from a STFS(con) file. Derp = new Tag(); Derp.LoadFromSTFS(openFileDialog1.FileName); Included in the download is the Library its self, along with the source of an application that shows how to use it properly. I only ask that you give credit to me and DJ SkunkieButt for its use, and maybe add some of your tag research to the modhalo wiki. Have fun. http://deelekgolo.codebrainshideout.net/Pics/2010-09-04_0412.png Download

Those are 2 years old and have been circulating around the net for so damn long. Don't think you are special just because you have these.

If there where no stocks or renders then people would have actually made sigs using there own methods. My skills would have increased if i didnt make other people's work because I would still have something to model, whether it exists or not.

I know what you are saying. You may show art in any form and way that your heart contends to. But the idea of making it from scratch is not what I am meaning. If your end result is ment to look like something else then your creation isn't really being creative now is it?. Yes I know that applies to me when I re-create models from other games but I do it so that I may enhance my modeling skills. Which may be similar when it comes to creating the signatures like you guys do(to enhance your photoshop skills) but I still haven't seen an example of you guys using theses skills to create something completely of your own. Which is exactly what my argument is targeted for. Many of you saw me as entering your "gfx territory" and immediately wanted to challenge me into some GFX battle. Which is very primitive minded, acting like cavemen that don't like other cavemen because they entered there territory but don't like them even though they are giving them a warning of an incoming tide. I am not trying to do anything like compare your skills with mines, or show that I am better then you or you are better then me, that honestly doesn't matter. I am sure that all of you are perfectly capable of doing such a thing but why do you choose to refuse to do it when you are perfectly capable of it and when it is truly rewarding? This debate is very irrelevant to the original topic, maybe we can move it elsewhere?
-
I do understand what you are meaning about the work behind creating such images, but what I am trying to convince is that: if you where to take someone else's work and photo manipulate it, etc. Would it be appreciated more then someone that where to make a peice of art to see there idea of the world? Or to see something that came completely out of there mind? You didn't need to, the point was that you didn't make the original picture.
-
That is exactly that I just said. Getting other people's work(that photograph) and putting pretty sprinkles around it(the abstract designs). Also that is not a photo manipulation. I did make it from scratch. But you didn't in the example you just showed me. Unless you actually took that photograph yourself.

Stop turning everything into a contest. I am saying that to many of you guys make art the way kids in the 4th grade do. Making cut outs from other things and gluing it on something else and putting pretty things around it. But why not just draw something out and make it look better over time? Why not understand how to make such a thing so that everything shows how YOU want it. And not have it just be someone else's work with pretty sprinkles glued all over it. Also, the work you see me make is based on other people's concepts because I make them for a team dedicated to a project of there own. Renegade X is re-createing models and bitmaps from the original Renegade to meet today's standards. But I don't see it similar to your situation. Also I do make things on my own. A lot more then I recreate at that. Like this for instance. Not trying to show off, trying to show that I do dedicate my skills into creating art on my own. Which I am wishing for you guys to do the same.

I never stated or intended such a thing. I never stated that. I was clearly talking about ibotmodz' standard of art. Not you specifically. Its not like your opinion mattered. "Its not like your opinion mattered." I don't care what "league" your trying to post here. I am talking about the site's standard of art. Not yours specifically. Stop trying to drag the argument into your side of the playing field. Or do you just not know how to decipher regular sentences?
