hehe yea, you can just tell that the blurring cuts off right away when it should be more gradual and the extent which something should be blurred should be based on how far in front of/behind it is compared to the focal. bad blurring has the ability to ruin anything.
composition is how you arrange the elements of a piece to sort of "fit together" if that makes sense. Things like a centered focal and where and how he placed the effects is part of what gives this bad composition. It's random and nothing looks like it was meant to "fit together" to make a single setting.
