    #131916 [Suggestion] Montage Forum

    Posted by matty0 on 27 November 2011 - 10:12 AM

i'm going to throw it out there. everyone hates montages anyway. video's with a legit topic behind them are great, but pointless lists of kills are shit. nobody cares

    #131600 It was fun.

    #128399 iPhone/iPod Cydia 1.1+ Multitasking Mod

    Posted by matty0 on 28 March 2011 - 03:34 PM

    I'm a donor on xsellize :)
Anyways, you can also enable multitasking when you jailbreak if you use RedSn0w.

this isnt enabling multitasking on the phone, this is enabling multitasking of the cydia app ;)

    Nice tut bro.

    thanks

    #128392 iPhone/iPod Cydia 1.1+ Multitasking Mod

    Posted by matty0 on 28 March 2011 - 12:44 PM

This is a guide for those of us who have jailbroken iPhones... don't worry, i expect 0 reply's to this thread. i just wrote it up for an iphone forum i contribute to and thought why not share it here...

Ok, so if like me you use cydia a lot and have many sources to update each time it runs, it's a welcome change to be able to start it updating then play a game while it does the work.

Now, it won't automaticaly multitask, but we only need to mod 1 line in the program. so lets get started!

I will now post a visual step-by-step guide on how to do this mod with iFile, but you can just as easily do it via SSH or iPhone Browser for example.

Step 1 - Locating Cydia within the filesystem
    Posted Image

As you may be able to see from the top of this screenshot, you need to navigate to...
    var/stash/Applications/Cydia.app/

Step 2 - Locate and edit the "info.plist" file

Now, find this file named "info.plist" within the cydia.app folder
    Posted Image

Click on it and select "Text Viewer"

Now at the top click "Edit" (top left) then scroll right to the bottom (should be the very last line except for "</plist>"), looking for the line
    <key>UIApplicationExitOnSuspend</key>
    <true/>
and change true, to false... making it say...
    <key>UIApplicationExitOnSuspend</key>
    <false/>
Here is a screenshot to illustrate...

    Posted Image

Now make sure this file is backed up, then in the top right corner, hit "Save" then quit iFile and RESTART YOUR DEVICE, i did not say respring, or simply run cydia, RESTART

thats it! job done! you have a multitasking cydia! now be careful with this. it is not intended for multitasking during an installation of .debs, but this certainly needed writing up!

anyway, if this helped you please leave a little comment. i prefer it to the thanks button. maybe some clever person could package this mod into a xsellize package for the repo... just a suggestion ;)

    enjoy!

#124919 How do I rebuild my laptop from safe mode / command prompt?

    Posted by matty0 on 11 October 2010 - 03:43 AM

right click and save as on this link

it is a direct download from micro$hit for windows 7 home premium (x32) download it on any computer, burn it to a dvd (s...l...o...w...l...y) then boot from the dvd

(usually computers are pre-configured to boot from the disk drive if a disk is present, but if not, one of the "F" keys should do it. try "F11" or "F12" as they tend to be for the most common mobo's)

once the disk boots, select your hard drive and do a "Format" that will erase everything on the drive and give you a clean slate to work from. once win7 is installed, get an antivirus on there before ANYTHING else. then, plug in your pen drive containing your music, and do a full scan. if the virus derived from that then you're shafted. if not then stick your tunes back on and continue happily.

    oh and a word of advice, viruses come from 3 places;

    1) p2p (limewire/torrents) - make sure you have an antivirus CONSTANTLY scanning your download folder, and if you use torrents, make sure you get ones that people have commented on cnfirming its safe. (dont be a guinea pig!)

    2) Warez sites - we've all been there, but its important to keep yourself safe. make sure you have winrar installed, and then using an antivirus of your choice scan the "archives" before you extract them to get to the download. DO NOT extract without first checking there safe!

    3) Pronz - if you are a naughty boy then you might want to look at these websites just built for mummy's and daddy's who love eachother very much. this is a bad idea unless you have a browser that can go into some form of "private" mode (safari/chrome/firefox all do i believe) as they do not save the webpages or underlying code. also, keep an antivirus running in the background for safety.
Oh, and if it has "Rule 34" ANYWHERE on the site, run away, hide under a table and hope for a nuclear bomb to hit your house. once you see anything based on rule 34... it can't be unseen... ever...

thus ends lesson 1. how to not kill a computer.

lesson 2 will be next week - how to make a computer want to have your babies

    #120405 OSX on PC

    Posted by matty0 on 03 July 2010 - 05:36 AM

thats very weird... it was built to work on kalyway and thats the only disk i could get it to work on (i used it to install kalyway onto a netbook i used to have)

unfortunately i dont know mate :( if you have a friend with a mac you could get them to "restore" the iso to a usb pen drive and install from there (VERY fast install, works a treat) but other than that i have to be honest, you'd need a disk drive

    #120352 OSX on PC

    Posted by matty0 on 02 July 2010 - 05:01 AM

is that the iatkos 7i disk? because if so then it wont work with the HD install helper. it wont work with anything above 10.5.2 i believe (iatkos is 10.5.7)

i suggest you try Kalyway 10.5.2, VERY high compatibilty on that disk

    #120329 OSX on PC

    Posted by matty0 on 01 July 2010 - 04:33 PM

theres no specific place im afraid, just open it up and have a good look all around the mobo for a manufacturer stamp. im sure there will be at least one

    good luck

    #120324 OSX on PC

    Posted by matty0 on 01 July 2010 - 11:15 AM

could you open up your computer and tell us what the manufacturer is? i want to make sure i advice you the right chipset drivers and that depends on knowing your mobo.
itl also help me to tell you the right sound card drivers.

if you dont feel comfertable opening up your computer i understand, but it would greatly help

Did you build that PC or did you buy it OEM? If OEM, what brand/model?

indeed that would help, and as for finding out hardware i strongly suggest "Everest Ultimate"

it tells you basicaly everything you'd need to know about your hardware
