GIMP however is 10000x better for cropping images.

    no its not lol
There is so much stuff you can do with the crop tool in PS.
I had no idea until this year in my graphic design class.

Photoshop is the way to go, but then again Gimp is free.

    Your retarded,
    you guys,

photshop and gimp can do the EXACT same thing.

If you suck at photoshop, youll also suck at gimp,

Ps just has all the tools layed out for you, Gimp has the same filters and same things just harder to find,
Also, gimp has specific brush size, thats the only downfall.

Ive seen works done in GIMP that were FAR FAR FAR better than PS.

the thing is photoshop is just more practical and usable. gimp is kinda a pain. they can both do the something in theory, but photoshop is by far more popular and most used. the thing is if you dont want ot pay an arm and a leg (or jack it off limewire or something) then gimp is a decent option. another thing with gimp it would be harder to find tuts and help but it is out there. try them both out if you can and decide for yourself after a bit of messing around. hope that helped.

You should try and get photoshop, but if not get PaintDotNet... It's just as good a PS just free.

Lol it took you like 4 days to find these? Do these artists prefer GIMP over photoshop? I highly doubt it. I'm not saying that a rare decent tag doesn't come from GIMP, but I'm willing to bet 90%+ of good artists prefer photoshop over GIMP. And the examples you used aren't even that good. Photoshop is just easier to use.

I'm not saying I can, I'm just saying I've seen much much more impressive work. You did not pick very good examples to back up that GIMPers make better tags. I could easily find tags better than those.
