What iPod touch should I get?

So heres the question, I'm going to be buying/getting an iPod touch sometime between now and Christmas.

What I want to know, is what gen I should get.

My question is this, will you be able to jailbreak 2g by the time I get mine?

I have my pro's and con's for 1g.

Pros
Cheaper...roughly 100 bucks.
Definately capable of being jailbroken.
Easily hackable with plenty of 3rd party apps.

Cons
Not as good hardware as 2g.
Less battery life
etc crap like that.

What do you think I should get?

I'm open to opinions, so post AS LONG AS you provide your reasoning with it.

So please, help me make this descision.

I'd love 2g but its more expensive and not hacked yet(That I know of, its only been out for a month)

I've checked a couple of hacking sites, non provided answers.

A month ago my iPod died when I did this gap, and forgot I had it in my pocket, and it flew out of my pocket, shattering on impact.

I was wearing sweats.

It was already beat up from being 3 years old.

As for the iPod, i would recommend the first gen if you really want to be sure that you can jailbreak it. 2nd gen i guess is going to be more difficult but i can pretty much guarantee it will be done. I have the first generation, but not jailbroken. The App Store does what i need so i have no use for jailbreaking it. As of now i would recommend the first generation because it has good battery life, and unless the speaker is life/death for u, it should suffice. The lower price tag should also be a decision maker for the first gen. However, the second generation iPod Touch will be better, but probably not jailbroken any time soon. (dont quote me)

Yeah, I was comparing em and leaning and prolly would have toppled over the 1g

But than I saw ooOOoo Speaker! Took em like 5 years to build in.

Unless it gets publicly jailbroken by christmas, My choice is 1g

yeah that sounds reasonable. odds are the 2g will b jailbroken by then. whatever you get...make sure to get the app store and download linerider, and all the SGN games. theyre sick

i would buy the first gen untill the 2nd gen gets busted open ^___^ then sell ur 1st gen and buy a 2nd gen which buy then should be down in price maybe. OR give the m0ney to me muhahaha! <3
