I see the list in the modding section but how is it usefull?

If your hex editing it tells you the identifiers for the object you want to mod in, that way you dont have to use johnson or enginer. now you dont need tag lists becuse you can use forge or sandbox, they have the tags built in.

Your thinking of the wrong thing, your thinking of indents.

A Halo tag is a 4 letter code. So instead of typing 'weapons' it will be just 'weap' and so on.

Its all used to help organize information for the programmers. It would be like if you made a 10 paragraph paper without ever indenting, it would be messy. Tags act as the paragraphs and separate the information into groups.
