    You wouldn't get banned if the console stayed off-line :p you would get banned if you tried to get on live

    Ignoring the fact Korupt's typo, haha. If you want to learn about Xbox 360 modding your best bet is Xbox-Scene. That's what basically everyone uses. Linux on a 360 isn't something you should worry about right now -.+ But if you'd like to be able to play burned copies of games and what not, yeah look into flashing your drive over at Xbox-Scene.
