I like XP better, only cuz I don't really know s*** about Vista.

I don't think there are any compatibility problems with Steam and there games. I do have steam on my laptop which does also have Vista. I only got a few games and they all work fine. I have Counter Strike: Source, Gary's Mod, Orange Box and a few other little mods from stream.

Another good site for computers would be alienware, be careful I spent over $14,000 buying my new computer. This is only because I bought everything that I possibly could (gaming mouse, 2TB externalHD, etc). The site your looking at is fine, http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/r02/ri02.asp all those computers there have good specs and everything, all it comes down to is how much your willing to spend.

go with XP or linux as an alternative. with vista it doesnt allow you to use a program it doesnt reconize. its a pain.

and for a virus program id go with kaspersky. i find it works the best. but if you know how to format computers you might want to go my method. none at all. viruses nad hackers seem to ignore you, because you dont stand out or seem challanging enough. and viruses protection programs slow your computer down alot.

    hope this helps

Use nod32. Very light weight program. With a firewall.

Personally, i prefer vista over xp now. Vista has become more compatible with many programs, and games now. And since my computer is bad ass, It runs way faster. But xp does have its advantages if you have a game that isnt fully compatible for vista yet.

xp is better performance, in all categories. Vista is better appearance, but avg. performance.

If you wanted a professional opinion, do a clean install of vista, logon to the "Administrator" root account, then goto Add/Remove Programs

and remove them ALL. THen instal what you want.

Note: Keep drivers, wireless stuff etc.

Remove Norton, DVD Copy software, antispyware, and other useless stuff.
