There has been much talk on there being checksums on halo 3 user maps (fore variants).

People say the maps have MD5, SHA and stuff.

It is easy to calculate the hashes for the user map, but does anyone actually know where the hashes are? (i.e what's their offset?)

With this information, it would be so much easier to find a way of playing modded user maps.

If anyone could help, it would me much appreciated.

I think it was detox or shade that said there was no "checksums" on user maps. Even if there were we would still need a CON file resigner.

I'm not sure if you understand...

To resign the CON file is to make all the 'checksums add up' if you like.

the checksums are how the XBOX checks the file's integrity (checks if it's been mucked around with).

If the checksums add up, the XBOX assumes the file is legit, and will allow it to be used. In this case, the file is a forge variant.

Checksums and hashes are the same thing.

I know it has checksums, i just don't know where they are...

Exactly nothing would happen to matchmaking because CON files have absolutely nothing to do with matchmaking.

If you could, that'd be great.

    Thanks in advance

I would rather not post all my work on second though. I use mango a program made by Prey to help map out offsets for everything. Also to help make plugins.
