    Indepth painting Xbox tutorial (v0.1)

    Tutorial written by : theraventron

i'm not going to describe howto remove the case, because i don't have a cam and you really need a camera to explain properly the disassembelment of the xbox.
i will say, remove the shielding, i left mine in and forgot about it and now its green :

    brief overview
this tutorial made by me (theraventron) explains howto paint the xbox, the way i did anyway, because i painted mine wrong (i taped the X first then i painted the outer x[grill] and so then i was left with a black X then i tryed to tape it and it @#%$ed) so i wrote this to help people paint theres and also because most paint tutorials skip bits and think that we are spray painting gurus, it ain't anything special i just hope it helps on the x-freak scene. and that some deformed, poor, homeless child can paint his xbox. (screw food by a xbox, ide burger tastiness)

    items needed...
disassembled xbox (face place, cover, dvd face plate & bottom bit)
2 cans of spray paint (primary is the X and its bits, secondary is the grills and front bits)
sand paper (really really fine) [i used 1200, but thats australia, is sandpaper internationally the same]?
stack of ********* magazine or newspaper
    a roll of sticky tape
    a spare crappy table
    a chair
    some smokes

    table of content(ins lol)
    1. preparation
    2. painting the box
    2.1 primer
    2.2 fbit
    2.3 1st coat
    2.4 2nd coat
    2.5 3rd coat
    3. painting the dvd faceplate
    4. tapeing up the [x]box
    5. painting secondary colour
    6. some useless s***

preparation... this is a b**** but its worth it...
    1. clean it well preferably use dishwashing liquid, soap and shampoo may work.. i haven't tried, then dry it
** when you dry it don't use tissues, it leaves little bits of fluff, use a teatowel or something similar (nylon preferably)
    2. sand it lighty ALL OVER
    3. find the scuffs and marks and give it a good see too, make sure it looks and feels smooth
** if worse comes to worse, make sure it looks smooth, feeling it isn't that important
    4. wash it AGAIN, this time give it a good wash, all over, in the grills especially.
    5. dry it now, and leave it for 10 minutes in a warm/sunny place to let the water dry
** it may look dry, but it mightn't preferably be
    6. find a large area where you can freely get paint everywhere, DON'T USE GRASS, or the ground, theres too many bugs, ants, flys, grass, dust, find a table somewhere and use that.
    7. cover the table in newspaper (i used packing paper it is the best [i just moved] its flexiable and thick)

painting the box... the easiest bit of it all...
    primer
    1. look, you don't REALLY need a primer, if you've got spare paint, you may aswell
    2. spray it with gay abandon!
** it doesnt have to look great, it's only for the good paint to stick too.
** follow the steps of 2. in 1st coat

fbit (you @#%$ed up a bit)
    1. if you've @#%$ed up a bit (ie. runs, drips, rivers [now referred to as fbit]) do the below, if not skip this bit.
2 sand the "fbit" down, till it is unseeable, meaning that it is flush with the rest & that it isnt a bump (it should look bit scratched, but feel smooth)
    3. blow it and give it a clean if youd like
    4. respraying a bit
4.1 primer -> this isn't special really, dont respray it, the 1st coat should cover it
4.2 1st coat -> a bit tricky, personally, i would respray it.. but all in all you don't have too
4.3 2nd coat -> this is a b****, because you probably don't want to spray another coat. do it a bit heavy it should cover it in 1 go. if you plan on a 3rd coat, don't do it too heavy, just spray it so the majority disappears.
4.4 3rd coat -> if you @#%$ed up a bit on this, sand it down and respray the particular area REALLY lightly, then wait for it to dry and respray it again heavier, it should be gone now.

    1st coat
    1. your probably now, thinking, what if i screw it up (atleast i was) but you have to realize that you can clean it up, just make sure the COLOURS you picked are the exact ones you want, you can fix the paint but the colour is harder.
    2. spray it with your primary colour, spray it real good
** when you initually spray the box, spray the paper for a bit, drippage is a bit.
** hold the can about 10/30cm away from the box (basically get as far back as you can, just don't go so far back that the paint doesn't hit it :|.
** while spraying move left to right, always left to right, never change, left to right.(or in the same constant motions, dont change)
** hold the nossle down at the same hieght, don't change it.
** NEVER EVER EVER $%#^%# let go or start spraying the box in the middle of the spraying area, splatter $%#^%# sucks.
    3. spray the whole box, dont be stingy, give it a good clean coat (not to heavy)
** as the ancient raventron proverb go's "several light coats is better then one heavy coat"
    4. now it should look pretty shitty (there should be little bits of black(or undercolour) here and there)
    5. let it dry, just leave it alone, LEAVE IT, don't you do it, don't yo do it.
** i cannot stress this enough, leave it, for about 10-50 minutes depending on the paint.
    6. if you @#%$ed a bit up refer to "fbit" (ie. runs, drips, rivers)

    2nd coat
    1. the good stuff, the good stuff
** not much to do here just spray it again, but be careful
    2. spray it again, with the primary colour all over
** be nice and gentle, if this messes up its a b****.
    3. if you @#%$ed a bit up refer to "fbit" (ie. runs, drips, rivers)

    3rd coat
    1. spray it again
** this isn't necessary, but it's always nice and pretty.
    2. if you @#%$ed a bit up refer to "fbit" (ie. runs, drips, rivers)

painting the dvd faceplate... this is pretty simple, but noone seemed to mention it anywhere
    1. remove the dvd faceplate (remove your drive, duhh, and flip it over, push down on the plate and it should pop off
    2. tape where the plastic moves out (second plastic hinge)
** this is so when you put it on the X will look like a prolonged X
    3. spray it with your primary colour first
** yes, if you spray the xbox logo the silver disappears, but you can scratch the paint off or buy a marker and pen it carefully on the top.
    4. leave it to dry
    5. remove the sticky tape and tape the now painted bit.
    6. spray the now non painted spot with secondary colour
    7. it SHOULDN'T run, but if it does, go and read the "fbit" bit :.

    tapeing up the [x]box..
** this is hard to explain without pictures, so i boosted a picture from llamma.com (plug plug) sorry.
    1. this shows where you should tape it so it'll match up. err minus the jewel ofcoure
    Posted Image
** of course you need to keep tapeing it up
** dont leave any of the primary cover open (seeable) paint has the kind of nature where it creeps into perfect places :|
    2. it should look something like the picture above, minus the jewel & the colour being something aside black.
    3. TAPE EVERYTHING aside the secondary colour areas
** don't be stingy tape it to the max!
** don't use paper, paint easily seeps through it.

    painting secondary colour..
    1. now simply spray the alloted areas with your secondary spray
** follow the samples of 1st coat
** try to spray the tape as little as you can as it can sometimes leek through
    2. allow it to dry
    3. DONE BIATCH, wiz00t

    some useless s***...
i tryed to think up as many alternatives and questions that could come up so you wouldn't have to go looking for them some i thought of are...

    q. what if i get runs or rivers in the corners
    a. bend your sandpaper and jam it in there and sand it

    q. i keep getting spatters
    a. try changing the nozzle

    q. theres a dent in my xbox that i thought paint would cover it
    a. its hard to say, sometimes if you dose it in paint itll disappear, but i'd leave it a nick here and there won't hurt

    q. you swear too much and are a loser faget b**** slut
    a. i know i swear, i love being a loser, i had your mother so im not a faget, you are what you eat, and mwahahaha

    i hope this helped and
    meshuggah owns you...
