ok, i need help.


i've got the mod on my xbox, and i'm stuck.


how do i get it to play on halo 2?!?!?

do i load up the game? or do i do something else?

1. What format is the mod? (Whats after the dot, EX SPPF,PPF,SERENITY,MAP)
2. Do you have Halo2 burned to your xbox?
3. Is it a new map or old map, so you could play it from the F drive or E drive?
4. Have you followed the "Gain 2 extra gigs, with F drive" tutorial in Xbox Tutorials?
5. Where is the map on your harddrive?


Answer these and I will get your exact anwser.

i really have no idea,

i JUST started this. i think it's a SPPF or PPF and it came with a serenity auto-patcher..

the killtacular 2 map pack.

and i also downloaded nightwinder.

umm, burnt to the hard-drive?
i have no idea what that means..

well, one is a map pack... and i sort of found a tutorial on how to get that to PLAY, but i don't know what exactly the tut. was asking me to do.

the other is just the map nightwinder, i downloaded the two most-popular mods i could find.

no, i haven't found that tutorial and it's on the e-drive under games.

i deleted nightwinder off the HDD so that i could start over.

You need to apply the SPPF and PPF to the map file, here is a tutorial -> Click <-.

Also are you modding on a 360 or Xbox?

If it is a Xbox read this tutorial on burning halo 2, to your HDD, -> Click <-.

If your modding on a 360 you can only mod new maps, -> Click <- (you only need to read the FTP part.

regular xbox, and my FTP just stopped working [flash FXP]

i was burning on halo 2 and when i got to the media folder, the que started slowing down and halted.

i rebooted a couple times (disconnecting first, of course.) and it still wouldn't work.

also, the map pack.

i have no idea what's going on.

i can't get the SPPF or the patching.

I IZ UBER CONFUSED.

I would say it cuz you filled up your HHD how big is the one you got?
If you only got a couple of gig Ill show you how I got around this problem.

Also i am confused as to what you are going on about when you say "i can't get the SPPF or the patching.".
Are you saying you don't know how to patch or that the auto patcher isn't working?

both.

the auto-patcher is saying the patching is finished, and then i resign the maps, but they don't show up anywhere.

and then the SPPF program just isn't working.

i did the f drive thing, and i got the two gigs.

i've got plenty of room.

but my Flash FXP program will not transfer the rest of halo 2 to my xbox.

i'm going to try again, but the sooner you can get back to me, the better.

The autopatcher will say its finished even if you fail to put the clean maps in. I think you failed to put the "clean" maps into the source map folder, that would cause an error. Even if you did the F drive formatting that F drive space doesn't convert into your E drive which I assume your trying to do. delete all maps you did, and re patch it using clean maps. (I can get you the clean maps, if you need it) Then move that folder into the F/Games/ folder. If it disconnects during transfer your out of space.

So follow that and that should work.

i may try the map pack later on, but for now, legacy helped me figure out how to get individual map mods to work [XD]


so now i have nightwinder and i'm going for a good lockout or ascension mod.

oh, one question,

how exactly do i use the F drive?

because all of the Halo 2 files are on the E drive.

Okay, first you need to learn and understand how to FTP to your xbox.

Formatting your F Drive will partition your xbox HD down into another sector to help give you more memory. The way you now know how to make and test modz is only using the new maps. Using the old maps requires the F drive and a little more skill. Lets look at it this way. You aren't adding anything, your using the already downloaded maps like Containment to mod. When you mod old maps, their on the disk so you cannot rewrite and change those. So what you do is, pop in Halo 2, and don't boot it. Leave it at your modded dash. Start up your FTP connection, and copy the whole entire D drive to your computer, once its on your computer delete all the halo 2 campaign maps. (any map above 200m is a campaign map) Leave though, single_playered_shared.map, shared.map and mainmenu.map and all the other multiplayer map names you know. Ivory Tower is cyclotron.map, Relic is dune.map, Terminal is triplicate.map etc etc. So you need to after you've deleted and updated the D folder on your desktop rename it to Halo 2, and move it to F/Games, and then boot it up using a modded dash and your good.

ok, currently i have:


1. Halo 2 burnt to the E drive,
2. 3 mods: Relic, Terminal, and Conatinment.
3. A LOAD of mods on my computer for maps such as Lockout and Coagulation, also the Killtrocity 2 Map Pack.

So, yeah.
And i figured out the SPPF patcher program, really simple after you know where the file goes and what it's named.

But if I do add it to my Xbox, where do i put it? My E drive is almost full. Should I delete Halo 2 and put it on the F drive? (The thought gives me chills because i put a good three days into figuring out how to put it ON my Xbox PERIOD.)

And I've got quite a few more questions but, thats all for now.

Delete the Halo 2 and put it on F Drive, do not delete the new maps though, those stay on the E drive, were only using the F drive to mod the whole disc entirely.
