8 GB RAM(dnt know what kind)
2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Quad CPU
2x 24" Dell ultrasharp 2407WFP monitor(somethin like that)
Logitech G15 Keyboard
nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS
nVidia 780i motherboard
AverTV HD DVR capture card

Well I use it for rendering out videos in After Effects, HD. As well as rendering out some animations and CGI that i do in 3DS Max with advanced tracking. I also use it for a program called boujou if u know what that it, it doesnt take much processing power to run. I also use it for capturing HD footage off my Xbox and just browsin the web. Thats all i can think of for now sooo...

The motherboard definitely is favoring the video cards. It has a massive 3 PCI Express slots just in case you want to house 3 massive video cards. Otherwise it looks fine.

What did you pay for that motherboard?

If hes rendering he would see a better increase by upgrading video cards as the core2 quad is more then enough.
I suggest a gtx 460 as thats what me connors and quinn are getting. If the cpu starts to slow, a good overclocking is what the doctor ordered.

I agree with this. I would say if you got the money to get a 460, after market cooler and some high quality paste.here are some links to what i would recommend.

Can any of you point me towards a good overclocking tutorial for the quad core just for future reference and just to let you know i mightget the GTX 460 for my birthday or Christmas which is quite a while away
