Search (Control + F kiddies) for "highestskill".

You should find this, to an extent:

/gameapi/UserUpdatePlayerStats.ashx?title=%s&userId=%016I64X&highestSkill=%d

Now, if we look closely, the end part seems to be posting values, which do not resemble int's.

I figured such were variables, and "%" denoted a variable.

So, without breaking the length of the string, and not having to fix it (which doesnt even work) change the two bytes of:

%d

to

50

and voila, you are a master hacker!

unlike infinity ward, bungie can adapt, they will most likely patch this up somehow. Im not exactly sure how they would, but these days cheat detection is easy. Especially on a closed system like the 360.

I was thinking on getting the MD5 hash of the current XeX In use (to prevent people just changing the name from default.xex), and checking it on the server, if its different, then fail to load the map.

But then what if instead of calculating the MD5 I make it return the MD5 for the proper xex? There are ways Bungie could fix it, but it has yet to become a big enough problem for them to afford putting out a title update.
