Fallout New Vegas will come out on:

October 19, 2010

Those of you looking to roll the dice on another trip back into the wasteland (which we assume is A LOT of you…) can now mark October 19, 2010 on your calendar as Bethesda has revealed the US release date for Fallout: New Vegas. Gamers in Europe will have to wait just a few days as the the title will hit retailers on October 22nd over there.

There’s really not much else to say other than the fact that we expect to learn a whole lot more about Fallout: New Vegas this week at E3. Of course, we’ll get you any updates we have as soon as they come in.

Im soooooo excited for this but a little sad that its the exact same outdated engine as last time.

I second this. The engine is inadequate to deal with new tech, and has more than a few flaws. I hope that they will release a far less buggy game than Fallout 3 was, even if it means pushing the release date a few months. Its not right that the community has to make "unofficial" patches that fix more than the official ones do!
