ok so i bought a second hand xbox360 to do the jtag hack since this xbox has never been connected to live i figured it would be easy to do the hack since it is pre NXE and the box itself is a 2007 Arcade Falcon motherboard i followed all the tuts on how to repair 3 red ring (the console was sold to me cheap (£30 GB pounds/ $48 US Dollars) all i had to do is spend an extra £15 on the tool to repair it but after doing all the thermal paste fixes i turn it on and it still has 3 RROD so yah so if someone could to the following

    1. Someone Provides me a Xbox360 RROD which can be fixed under £80/$100

    2. someone provides me with a xbox360 motherboard

    3. i ship this box to an expert to fix

as you know i cant ship it to Microsoft as i have already violated them by opening up the xbox360 which voids warranty =(

I can easily fix this for you; I repair 360s any error. I don't do the xclamp fix which bends the boards causing damage, or the penny trick which does more harm than good, or the overheating trick which kills it all. I use professional tools, and the best methods out there to fix your 360. So you will get a quality, lasting repair. I only charge $35 + return shipping for any repair and I don't charge anything till I fix it. So if youâ??re interested or if you have any questions my aim is itemcentral and my email is xbox360smartrepairs@yahoo.com

btw rrod doesn't mean its the gpu and/or cpu so xclamp trick wouldn't even fix it. It could be the southbridge, hana chip, ram, ect.

Check the secondary code, then you'll know for sure what's wrong.

I suggest fixing it yourself too, i know that "halo3" here knows a bit about RROD tho.

Mine had rrod and i fixed it myself, i did the x-clamp fix and the penny trick. Personally i think the x-clamp fix is great, cause even if it doesn't fix the problem, you have fresh heatsink which is way better the m$'s bad glue on the chips.

Don't do the xclamp trick. First of all it applies uneven pressure on the chips, you have a huge amount of pressure pushing on the top of the chip causing flexing so the fix won't last long and the error will come back. Also with the xclamp trick you need to overheat the 360 which is very bad. Overheating gets your 360 well over 100C which may reconnect some solder balls but extremely lightly because lead-free solder balls in the 360 melt at 217C+. By doing this youâ??re damaging your 360 because first of all the caps have a max operating temp of 105C so youâ??re damaging them. Also the dvd drive is right on top on the gpu heating and the heat can't be good for that. So don't do the xclamp fix lol XD

You get the 2 red rings because the screws are too tight. Since it shows rrod though along with 2 rings then the xclamp fix isn't working. When the xclamp fix is applied its shows rrod right, and when you tighten then or loosen them it shows 2 rings. The problem is probably somewhere different. It sounds like it may be the Southbridge or the ram. As for repairs its $35 just for the repair, I use professional tools to fix your Xbox (search smd rework station on google), I also add on the xclamp trick hybrid and that is similar to the xclamp trick yet it prevents flexing, does even pressure, fixes many of the 360s problems, and lasts longer. I only make $10-$15 because of the costs of parts. Which is the best deal out there. A jtag is hard work, the cheapest I've heard is $40 just for a jtag, and so if your looking for both for $40 your xbox isn't going to last longer than 2 hours lol.

halo3 you better stop spamming this forum and double posting, im getting sick of you and your advertising.

I know plenty of people who fixed their xbox with x-clamp and it still works fine.

So do the secondary code, figure out the problem then go from there.

MS doesn't fix 360s (or at least they didn't when I shipped them mine when the DVD drive broke) they just send out replacements so if you have any downloads that you might have gotten by your friends letting you use their account or by other means ;) then you might not be able to use those downloads again

Jtag is mostly hardware, as you use the Jtag port. Thus the exploit name.

Actually, save your money... I can almost guarantee you that you can handle this yourself, easily...

What it sounds like from you description of the problem is that you simply used way too much thermal paste on the chips. Honestly, they only need a very light covering (about 2 grains of rice on each chip). The reason you are getting the overheat code is because the chips aren't making a good connection with the heatsinks. try to clean them off really good with alcohol prep pads and redo the paste. The Xclamp works fine and there is no benefit to the more costly "hybrid" clamp. Remember, and seriously... remember.... when putting the screws back in ( screw, metal, nylon, board, nylon, metal, heatsink) only tighten the screws as far as you can with your bare hand... no joke.

And Halo3... jtagging is 95% hardware. The software installation is very basic.

    Lemme know if that helps.
