This is the first step in getting third party apps on your touch.
First plug your iPod in and see what frimware its running.
Chances are that if you've plugged your iPod in before this, you have the latest frimware running. Because of this your going to need to downgrade to 1.1.1

*You have to use Firefox when downloading the downgrade*
Ok, you have your downgrade. Now open up itunes with you iPod connected.
Shift click on the Update button
This can take a little while so go pop some pop-corn
Ok now you have you iPod downgraded and you feel like a badass.
the next step is to grab your touch, and go to jailbreakme.com
scroll to the bottom and hit install appsnap
wait....
and now you should have installer on your home screen
click that and start installing all kinds of apps =]
