First of all let me give credits.
Xenon.7, He's the one who wrote and released the program.
Anthony, Help with tons of Halo 3 related research
Xorloser, For developing the famous xextool.
and all others for the programs used.
Software that you will need.
ABGX360, to check the .iso for crc errors.
WX360, to extract/inject your .xex
Halo 3 Unlock, To patch your .xex's
IMG Burn, to burn your game
JohnsonV1.14
Xplorer Xtreme 2 (Whatever you prefer)
Halo3.iso (You must own the game to legally have this)
The respective .map file of what you wish to mod.
Hardware that you will need.
Dual Layer DVD's
Flashed Xbox 360 & Accessories
Transfer Kit
Computer with necessary hardware to burn dual layer disk.
First thing you need to do is create a folder on your desktop called "Halo 3 Mod" and inside of that folder create a folder called Halo 3.
Now that you have that done, download all of the files you will be needing and place them into your Halo 3 Mod folder in a folder called "Tools"
ABGX360
WX360
Halo 3 Unlock
IMG Burn
JohnsonV1.14
Xplorer Xtreme 2
Install IMG Burn and ABGX360. Once that is done delete the installations files form the Halo 3 Mod/Tool/ Directory
Once you do that run WX360 and navigate to your Halo3.iso (Which is in Halo 3 Mod>Halo3)
Inside the .iso you should see something called "default.xex" right click it and extract it to your Halo 3 Mod folder
Once you have this extracted you can now run Halo 3 unlock (don't worry about xextool I already put it in for you)
After the program is up and running, use it to navigate to your default.xex (in Halo 3 Mod>default.xex) and open it. Apply the 3.1
and hit "Apply Patch"
After the .xex is patched run WX360 and Open up you Halo3.iso once more. This time right click the .xex file and hit "Replace File"
When you go to replace, replace the file with your patched .xex and it will be replacing your stock xex with the patched one.
Now exit the program. NOTE: IF wx360 gives you a replace error you need to redo the step to extracting the xex and apply a different patch.
Alright now lets burn this game!
NOTE: If, when you decide to mod want to mod a disk map then yes you will need to either go through the modding before you burn or burn another disk.
Ok Open up ABGX360 Start>ABGX360>ABGX360 Gui.exe and navigate to your Halo3.iso
Go to the "AutoFix tab" and make sure that level 3 is selected.
NOTE: If you have trouble getting this far then you should redo the process from start with the Halo3.iso checked with abgx360 before you go and extract the .xex.
Now Hit Launch and you will get something like this.
Alright, you need to be warned that this is no where near save on live. And that to do this offline and with the cache cleared.
Inside of the Halo 3 folder there should now be a Halo3.dvd file. Right click that file and hit "Burn Using IMGBurn"
Once the program is up set the speed to x2.4 and place in a DL Disk. Once you do that it should let you start
Alright wait for about 45 minutes and your game will be done burning. If it doesn't work then you applied the wrong patch, or your xbox isn't flashed.<<<Lol
Now you can just use Johnson to map mod what you want. Please note that you can't do everything.

You were correct, detox was misleading earlier, it requires jtag hack or a dev kit.I would rather have the game on my HDD, flash drive, external hard drive, etc. It's too much work to burn a game to a disk.
