Thanks to fattwam we now have an SSL Certificate. That means every time you go to a page where a login is required an HTTPS url will appear and a seal for SSL (Secure Socket Layer) which in turn means more security.

I don't honestly know the exact difference from the technical standpoint except that data is encrypted when passed back n forth.

Just to clerify, you should have an HTTPS login/logout redirect to the https version of your homepage. That way the remaining secure POST data is sent to another secure page, then people can just leave that page.
