For www.ibotmodz.net
In this tutorial I'm going to show you how to make an animated sig with Trapcode 3D Stroke. It will look something like this when your done:
You can mix the 3D Strokes or make them bigger, but that is just a basic example of what yours could look like.
~Requirements~
- A Computer Running Adobe After Effects CS3+
- Trapcode 3D Stroke (Get here)
- Basic Knowledge of After Effects
- A Life
- Friends
First start out by creating a new composition. Go to Composition>New Composition:
Use the same settings as mine:
Now we need to make a new solid to apply our 3D stroke to. So go to Layer>New>Solid or press Control/Command + Y:
This dialog should come up. The color dosen't matter, so as an example I made mine lime green. Make sure that you click "Make Comp Size" at least once:
Now select the Layer that you just made and go to Effects>Trapcode>3D Stroke:
Now grab the tool and select your layer. Now draw random lines with that tool as shown below:
Now go to your Effects Controls for your layer, and use these settings:
It should now look somewhat like this:
Now go to the first frame of your composition and set a keyframe for the offset at 50:
Now move your play-head to about 2 seconds and change the value of the offset to 100:
Now you can grab the tool and add some text. Do a RAM preview and it should look like this:
You can mess around with the settings, add a background, duplicate the layers, change masks, or whatever you want to customize your sig.
Once your done messing around, its time to render your sig into an animated image file. To do this make sure that your in your composition, and press Control/Command + Shift + / or go to Composition>Add to Render Queue. This screen should popup, click on "Lossless":
Change the format to "Animated GIF":
Now click on and use these settings:
Now click on "Output Module" and choose where you want to save your image:
Finally, click on and wait for it to render. When its done you'll have your animated sig.
