Red Faction: Guerrilla is a third-person shooter video game in development by Volition, Inc. and published by THQ, set to be released June 9, 2009 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Microsoft Windows. The game is the third instalment in the Red Faction series.
Unlike the previous Red Faction games, Red Faction: Guerrilla will be a third-person shooter, as opposed to a first person shooter like the original Red Faction and Red Faction II. The change in perspective allows for the destructive and changing environments created with the games engine, Geo-Mod 2.0 to be easily navigated, where a first person perspective would cause problems.
