And I'm not sue if anyone who still comes here knows about building them, but, just in case. I'd like your opinion on the build. I'm trying to stay around $800

    CPU is an AMD 8350
    Antec Earthwatts 650w PSU
    GTX 660 GPU
    GIGABYTE GA-990 Motherboard
    G-Skill 8gb DDR3 RAM
    Corsair 400r Case

I went with the 660 because the 670 is I think $130 more expensive. If anyone knows a better alternative to the 660, tell me please.

Is that already around $800? Or do we have any wiggle room?

It's like 770. So, fifty or sixty dollars, there's also a cheaper case that I could get, that's about as good, it just doesn't have the same cable management.

If your under a budget choose your PSU last then you can get one that has just enough power for what you need but if not get an 80+ efficiate one which will be cheaper in the long run with power costs.

Also an older model ATI Radeon might be cheaper and more powerfull then the GTX 660 GPU, for instance the AMD HD Radeon 5970 is a lot more powerfull then the GTX 660 GPU but since it's a few revisions old it's getting pretty cheap.

5970s are still over 400 dollars, but I'll poke around and see if I can find an older model that can out preform newer ones.

Whats your goals with this one? Lots of gaming? Or multi-tasking extreme programming?

My friend just got a 5970 off of ebay a couple weeks ago for $200ish (including shipping). Just watch the listings and make sure it was not used for bitcoin mining and always bid cause there are so many people who just want what's new and are buying 6970's and 7970's then selling their still good 5970's. Even when i bought my 5970 a year ago when the prices were higher i still only payed $350 for mine and it's working great.

Yeah, I see two on Ebay just now, one with 21 minutes left at $260. Not sure if I should cop it or not, don't want to impulse buy at 260. The other's at $150 with six days left.

Just watch them over a week and see what they sell for then you will know rougly what to set you max bid at, plus there will always be new listings tomorrow :)

I see a couple on ebay with 3 days leftr on them where the bids are currently only at 100-125.

The one I was looking at only had six hours on it. So, I can't buy it as I just made the paypal and I can't put dosh on it. I'll wait around for a week or so and see what pops up.
