Hey guys, my video class at school desperately needs some HD cameras. They were tricked into buying some "cheap HD camcorders" that make worse quality than my $120 canon picture camera set to video mode. We tried getting a Flip camera but it corrupted the videos every time we tried to copy them to the computer.

Im looking for 720p at the very least but 1080p would be awesome. We need to buy about 2 or 3 of them so the budget will be around $250 each. I don't have any experience in camcorders and all of the ones on newegg have very mixed reviews or cost a grand each.

Preferably something that stores memory digitally so we dont have to worry about tapes and stuff. We have one big camera that can do 720p onto tapes but the software it came with doesn't record 720p off of the tape. Very frustrating and the camera is too big to run around with.

So please anybody have any suggestions just put them here. I don't know where to start on this thing.

I got a 1080p JVC camera for about £55, I'm sure they retail over the pond for a similar price. I'll get you a link asap.

does it work well? on a scale of 1 t 10 how would you rate it in quality for the price you got it. lol

10 easily. Only downside is the lack of a flash.

I would recommend mine, but I believe its in the high $300s new.

lol you might have bought it for over $300. But a school usually gets discounts on things if they claim it's for "education". I found the same on one amazon for ~$215
