As of now these are the changes that have taken place.

  • A footer ad appears everywhere only to Validating, Guests, Banned and Bots
  • A topic view header and footer ad appears to Members, Member+, Validating, Guests, Banned and Bots
  • AdBrite green highlighted words are only visible for Guests and Validating members
  • Sidebar ad is still visible for everyone. :( (For some reason I click uninstall it throws error)
  • A nice little message is stuck at bottom for Guests, urging them to register or login
  • Guests can view the public forum side, without permission to download attachment
My intended plan is that more people will follow the links on Google, and then register since they cannot view images or download anything as a non-registered user.

did adds ever generate a good amount of money?(before recession?)

Honestly no. They payed for the server and after a few months they would buy the next upgrade.

Didnt think so, I never understood why companies actually buy adds online, since you trained to never click on them from when you first use a computer.
